Sonja and Seanachan went to visit Charles Kennedy at his surgery to ask for advice with this petition.

He wrote us this response afterwards.

We met again on Friday evening and discussed Seaonachan's draft of the letter to the residents. We agreed to add a timeframe to the letter so we would have a focused effort in a very short timeframe. We also said we should have a slip so people can let us know if they sent a letter so we know how much people power we can archive.

We discussed and thought that the template letter could be the main messages from the letter to the residents and we made a first draft.

The template letter will have space so everybody can add their own comments. We also encourage them to add pictures of dangerous situations.

We also discussed to have the template letter addressed to the Transport Minister only so our effort is all directed to one place right now. We will send copies of the letter to the residents to Charles Kennedy and our 4 local councilors.

Next steps:

• Seonachan has the letter and want to make the final textual changes to it. Then it'll come back and I will format it up. We'll then pass it around the group.
• I can print the letter at work.
• Sonja and Rhoda have offered to distribute it.
• Sonja will ask at the Post Office if we can collect the response slips there.
• We have not planned a next meeting as we'll just use email to send the letter around for approval.
